Today starts "The International Fair of Book"


Today at 18:00 hs (GMT -03:00) begins "The International Fair of Book" one of the most important fairs of Buenos Aires and the whole world.
Under the slogan of "Celebrating with books 200 years of stories" the Fair of the Book makes reference to the bicentennial since May 25 1810, one of the most important dates in Argentinian history.
To celebrate the 200 years, the Fair will take five works of literature outgoing Argentina, whose authors pay homage. Excerpts of these works illustrate the campaign of the Fair. These are "Rayuela", by Julio Cortazar; "Manuelita la tortuga" by Maria Elena Walsh, "Sobre heroes y tumbas" by Ernesto Sabato, "El oro de los tigres" by Jorge Luis Borges, and "Martin Fierro" by Jose Hernandez.
It's been confirmed that many famous writters from many parts of the world will attend the fair and sign autographs (for more info check this page: http://www.el-libro.org.ar/internacional/firmas/dia.asp?x=22 ).
Many publishers will also be on the fair and some of will even publish new books
This year the Fair takes place in "La Rural" one of biggest places in Argentina for expos. Today the entry is completely free, starting tomorrow the entry fee is $ 15 from Friday to Sunday and $ 12 from Monday to Thursday.
